About The Position

Neon Aero is seeking a Composite Layup Technician to work onsite in Manchester, Connecticut. The technician will perform complex composite layups according to approved engineering and manufacturing requirements, maintain material and quality controls, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to deliver reliable aerospace hardware. Work includes producing carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other composite layups using dry and wet processes, including complex geometries and mixed-material assemblies. The technician will prepare tooling, place and inspect plies, conduct debulking and vacuum leak checks, and help ensure components meet defined requirements. The position supports flight-critical quality through material traceability, accurate process records, defect identification, and controlled rework. It also contributes to first-article builds, process development, root-cause investigations, training, and manufacturing improvements, while supporting safe, organized, detail-intensive onsite production and coordinating quality and takt time. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of hands-on composite layup experience in aircraft or aerospace manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. The technician should be able to execute complex layups with minimal supervision and interpret engineering and manufacturing documentation. Physical tasks include standing, reaching, and repetitive hand movements. The job posting states that production shift, overtime expectations, lifting limits, additional physical requirements, and work authorization, export-control, and clearance requirements are to be confirmed by the manager. Neon Aero describes its work as combining startup agility with aerospace expertise and using automation, AI-driven tools, and a connected digital backbone. The company offers competitive compensation, equity participation, growth opportunities, and health, vision, dental, and 401(k) benefits. The expected compensation range is $28–$31 USD; final compensation depends on role scope, experience, skills, internal equity, and location. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits, if applicable. Final candidates must complete a background check and drug screening.
