About The Position

Sheffield Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Components Buyer to lead component procurement and monitor production schedules to ensure material delivery aligns with dynamic production needs. This role involves partnering with various internal teams, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to cost reduction and new product development through strategic sourcing and negotiation.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or above
  • Minimum 1 year of purchasing experience in manufacturing, or majored in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related fields
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and standard computer operations
  • Working experience with SAP is highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills; able to collaborate with colleagues, vendors and management teams at all levels
  • Capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing work amid frequent cross-team interactions
  • Must be available to work fully on-site

Responsibilities

  • Lead component procurement and monitor production schedules to arrange material delivery in line with dynamic production schedules.
  • Partner with production, QC, QA, warehouse, and finance teams to align procurement with business goals.
  • Continuously monitor price fluctuations and formulate strategic procurement proposals.
  • Manage supplier price lists to guarantee pricing accuracy, and assist the finance team in verifying invoice accuracy.
  • Collaborate with production planners to review material demands, flag and resolve issues that may disrupt production.
  • Follow up on overdue orders weekly and communicate closely with suppliers to guarantee on-time, quality, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage inventory levels and in-transit goods value to meet inventory targets and budget requirements.
  • Manage full quotation processes, conduct commercial negotiations, and oversee contract administration.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, driving improvements in material pricing, lead time, performance and supply stability.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues, maintain SAP data, and oversee procurement database management to ensure data integrity.
  • Perform other ad-hoc procurement duties as assigned.
  • Support new product development by sourcing and engaging with suppliers and collaborating with the QA & Graphic department to evaluate and qualify new suppliers, including art working changes, sample requesting, etc.
  • Monitor market prices, drive cost reduction projects and provide regular feedback on supplier performance.
