About The Position

Our Component Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting and rebuilding hydraulic parts and components such as hammers and cylinders for heavy equipment applications.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical knowledge including mechanical, electrical and hydraulics
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
  • Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications

Nice To Haves

  • Understand crane hoist and rigging equipment
  • Preferred forklift experience
  • Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with hydraulics)
  • Welding experience (Mig and Stick)
  • Stable work history
  • Caterpillar experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of repair as well as full reconditioning on component
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
  • Some troubleshooting on equipment may occasionally be required
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs
  • Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
