This role involves conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. The Component Specialist I will attend and complete required technician training, maintain a high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry, and possess the necessary tools to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble engines, transmissions, transfer cases, axles, final drives, and differentials to manufacturer’s specifications. The position requires performing designated repairs and rebuilds on customer or company-owned components, working in a neat and orderly fashion, and contributing to maintaining proper facility appearance and shop conditions. This role also includes inspecting components to maximize parts reuse for cost control, completing required documentation using appropriate software, researching safety and product updates, completing warrantable repairs, monitoring job expenses against estimates, and potentially assuming the supervisor's position temporarily. The ideal candidate approaches work positively, maintains supportive conduct, contributes to team efforts, and trains/mentors others.
