About The Position

The Component Shop Technician reports directly to the Production Manager. This role requires problem-solving, communication, troubleshooting, attention to detail, and the ability to read manuals. Professionalism is also a key attribute. The technician will perform disassembly and cleaning of aircraft components according to customer specifications, airworthiness directives, applicable manufacturers' CMM guidelines, and operating procedures. They must maintain current knowledge of and comply with customer and Transport Canada regulations. Familiarity with shop equipment operations, maintenance, component maintenance manuals, and other technical documents is essential.

Requirements

  • Communication - both verbal and written English language.
  • Must be able to write descriptive statements concerning the condition of the assemblies being worked on.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to use hand tools and mechanical experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for 8 to 10 hours.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical background is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Aviation experience is considered an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform disassembly and cleaning of aircraft components according to customer's specifications, airworthiness directives, applicable manufacturers' CMM guidelines and operating procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and comply with customer and Transport Canada regulations as applicable to the work assigned.
  • Ensure familiarity with all shop equipment operations and their maintenance, able to understand component maintenance manuals and all other applicable technical documents.
