Job Summary At ZOLL, supply continuity is critical to delivering life saving medical devices. The Component Lifecycle & Obsolescence Manager will be the subject matter expert responsible for protecting that continuity by proactively managing the complex component end of life (EOL) and obsolescence risk across ZOLL's product portfolio. This role serves as the single threaded owner for component lifecycle management, partnering closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product teams to ensure long-term product support while balancing inventory, cost, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate is detail oriented, comfortable working with large data sets, and confident influencing cross functional decisions that impact patient critical products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field required
  • 10+ years in Procurement, Supply Chain, Component Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with ERP, PLM, and lifecycle tracking tools
  • Working knowledge of PCN processes and supplier lifecycle management best practices
  • Project management experience in component obsolescence, EOL, or lifecycle risk
  • Strong analytical and data management skills (inventory analysis, projections, scenario modeling)
  • Experience leading cross functional teams in a technical or regulated environment
  • Overall strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of the electronic and/or electro-mechanical component industry
  • Led negotiations including international suppliers, adversarial supplier relationships and disruptive supply situations
  • Vast knowledge of upstream electronic supply chain components and origins
  • Knowledge level to advise engineering team at a high level on cost comparison of preliminary designs
  • Can demonstrate strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Experience in medical devices, electronics manufacturing, or other regulated industries preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own the end of life (EOL) and obsolescence management process for all electronic, electromechanical, and custom components
  • Maintain accurate lifecycle status, run out timelines, and risk assessments tied to active and sustaining products
  • Track supplier notifications including PCNs, NRNDs, and EOL announcements
  • Develop run out analyses and last time buy (LTB) recommendations aligned with: Product roadmaps, Forecast demand, Regulatory and quality considerations
  • Balance inventory risk, cost exposure, and long-term support requirements
  • Provide clear decision data to Procurement, Engineering, and Product leaders
  • Drive projects with Engineering to: Evaluate alternate components, Support form fit function replacements, Align redesign timelines with component lifecycle risk
  • Work with Quality and Regulatory to ensure lifecycle decisions support compliance and documentation requirements
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing and Planning to prevent supply disruption
  • Partner with suppliers to: Influence LTB deadlines and LTB product availability, Negotiate pricing and executing LTBs
  • Establish and continuously improve standardized component EOL and obsolescence processes
  • Strengthen visibility and cadence around lifecycle risk (12–36-month horizon)
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for component lifecycle risk within the organization
