Compliance Test Engineer; HPC-AI Products
About The Position
The Compliance Test Engineer designs, analyzes, develops, modifies, and evaluates mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, materials, equipment, and production tooling. The role conducts feasibility, design-margin, validation, and empirical testing on new and modified designs, and evaluates the reliability of materials, properties, designs, and production techniques. At the intermediate technical level, the engineer applies subject-matter expertise to solve common technical problems, provides analysis and recommendations as an informed team member, and works independently within an established framework with moderate supervision. The position is onsite, primarily at an HPE office, and focuses on HPC-AI products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Typically 2–4 years of experience.
- Experience using ProEngineer or other 3D CAD software as a mechanical design tool.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to design sheet-metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes.
- Ability to use CFD and thermal mockups to validate thermal solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery of English and the local language.
- Ability to communicate design proposals effectively and negotiate options.
Responsibilities
- Design portions of mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling in accordance with engineering principles and development practices.
- Develop and implement parameters and test plans for existing designs.
- Validate tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, and reliability.
- Develop fan curves and conduct system power measurements and acoustic testing.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and outsourced development partners on mechanical and thermal design and development.
- Participate on project teams to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for low- to moderately-complex products.
