About The Position

The Compliance Specialist serves as a team member of the Compliance unit. This position is responsible for ensuring that all records in Child Care Assistance are in compliance with the monitoring standards established by our funding sources. Will report to the Compliance Manager with some demand for independent judgment. ChildCareGroup (CCG) is a non-profit organization founded in 1901 with the mission to champion a strong early childhood system that teaches children and parents, trains early childhood professionals, and assists families. Child Care Assistance, a program of ChildCareGroup, manages child care subsidies in support of working parents, and quality initiatives to improve the early education for children throughout Dallas, Jefferson, Harden and Orange counties in Texas. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Related experience may be substituted on a year for year basis up to four years.
  • Experience in workforce development programs, child care subsidy or training in monitoring for contract compliance, mathematical accuracy, or internal control compliance.
  • Ability to effectively present information and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to clearly present information in written or oral form; write clearly and effectively present ideas to document activities and to read and interpret a variety of written information.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and ability to stay focused on task.
  • Must have ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must promote a positive work environment; Prompt and regular attendance required.
  • Unquestioned integrity and commitment to uphold ChildCareGroup’s mission, vision and core values.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license
  • Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
  • Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
  • Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
  • Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors Child Care Assistance programs to ensure that records comply with internal and external standards, with action steps and/reports to the appropriate Supervisor/Staff for corrections or completion. Works in a paperless environment.
  • Will utilize the approved monitoring tool to track and trend error types and individual error rate for quality improvement and training.
  • Works as a team to develop best practices and reduce the error rate. Informs and works alongside staff to provide guidance in a positive and growth-producing manner.
  • Will provide monthly monitoring data to the Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
