About The Position

The Arc of Washington County is seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to ensure billing accuracy, documentation integrity, and adherence to person-centered practices across programs. This role plays a critical part in maximizing funding, supporting teams through audit feedback, and ensuring compliance with documentation and billing standards.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree required (Bachelor’s preferred in counseling, psychology, education, sociology, vocational evaluation, or related field)
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in human services
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable providing corrective feedback and staff training
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating human service programs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Audit documentation, attendance records, and funding streams for accuracy
  • Identify errors and notify teams of deficiencies within 48–72 hours
  • Complete monthly audit “look-backs” to ensure corrections are resolved
  • Train Direct Support Professionals on proper documentation processes
  • Conduct 1–2 site visits/audits per month
  • Process medication errors and notify staff of CMT suspensions as assigned
  • Complete Person-Centered Plan audits
  • Expand and strengthen compliance monitoring efforts across programs
  • Model customer service standards and Person-Centered Practices
