About The Position
The Arc of Washington County is seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to ensure billing accuracy, documentation integrity, and adherence to person-centered practices across programs. This role plays a critical part in maximizing funding, supporting teams through audit feedback, and ensuring compliance with documentation and billing standards.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree required (Bachelor’s preferred in counseling, psychology, education, sociology, vocational evaluation, or related field)
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in human services
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable providing corrective feedback and staff training
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
Nice To Haves
- Experience coordinating human service programs preferred
Responsibilities
- Audit documentation, attendance records, and funding streams for accuracy
- Identify errors and notify teams of deficiencies within 48–72 hours
- Complete monthly audit “look-backs” to ensure corrections are resolved
- Train Direct Support Professionals on proper documentation processes
- Conduct 1–2 site visits/audits per month
- Process medication errors and notify staff of CMT suspensions as assigned
- Complete Person-Centered Plan audits
- Expand and strengthen compliance monitoring efforts across programs
- Model customer service standards and Person-Centered Practices
