About The Position

The Compliance Section Manager Sr. – Digital & Privacy is a senior individual contributor providing second line advisory and execution support across Digital/Mobile Banking and privacy. This hands-on role delivers compliance analysis, risk assessments, and practical guidance in a fast-paced environment while partnering closely with business and risk stakeholders. The role requires working knowledge of digital and privacy regulations, the ability to independently execute complex work with limited oversight, and collaboration with subject matter experts on more complex issues. It reports to the Consumer Finance, Digital & Marketing Compliance Group Manager and partners closely with the Enterprise Privacy Compliance Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in financial services
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or risk management with a focus on Digital and Privacy
  • Must have expertise in digital and privacy regulations, including acts, and guidance including: ESIGN, FFIEC,GLBA, TCPA, FCRA, CCPA, GDPR Guidance on Authentication in an Internet Banking Environment, Social Media Guidance, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and Weblinking.

  • Experience supporting digital/mobile banking or data-driven business activities
  • Working experience applying privacy regulations (e.g., GLBA, CCPA, GDPR) in a compliance, risk, or advisory capacity, including privacy impact assessments and data processing analysis
  • Exposure to consumer protection regulations in digital channels (e.g., UDAAP, Reg DD, Reg E, Dodd-Frank Section 1033, ESIGN, TCPA)
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform compliance risk assessments and deliver advisory support in complex or ambiguous environments
  • Experience operating as a senior individual contributor, managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes with limited oversight
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and execution skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide second line compliance advisory and execution support across Digital and Mobile Banking products, services, and customer experiences.
  • Provide second line compliance advisory and execution support across Privacy-related activities, including data use and regulatory considerations.
  • Independently execute detailed compliance risk assessments, advisory reviews, and analysis with minimal direction, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Apply working knowledge of privacy regulations, including CCPA, GLBA/Reg P, GDPR, and applicable state laws; partner with senior SMEs on more complex or emerging issues.
  • Identify applicable compliance risks and help business partners understand impacts, including upstream, downstream, and cross-segment considerations.
  • Review business controls, issues, and risk assessments; provide risk-based observations and actionable recommendations.
  • Support regulatory change impact assessments and provide input on emerging risks and requirements.
  • Assist business partners in meeting Compliance Management System (CMS) expectations (e.g., complaints, training, escalations).
  • Lead or support assigned compliance reviews and initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
  • Monitor progress of assigned work, track issues, and escalate risks or delays as appropriate.
  • Provide input and feedback on deliverables to support quality, consistency, and documentation expectations.
  • Proactively identify potential risks, gaps, or inefficiencies and recommend practical, risk-based solutions.
  • Support issue management activities, including validation, tracking, and resolution monitoring.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with partners across Digital, Marketing, Data & Analytics, and risk teams.
  • Develop into a trusted advisor by providing clear, practical, risk-based compliance guidance aligned with risk appetite.
  • Communicate compliance risks, observations, and recommendations clearly to business partners and Compliance leadership.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to support coordination on complex or ambiguous issues.
  • Support regulatory exams, audits, and compliance testing, including preparation of materials and responses.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Risk, Audit, and stakeholders to ensure aligned and effective responses.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory developments and industry trends across digital banking, privacy, and marketing.
  • Assess models and AI tools for potential compliance risks and impacts.
