About The Position

The Industrial Commission of Arizona, Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) is seeking a Compliance Safety Health Technician to join their team in Phoenix, AZ. This role offers hybrid work options and the opportunity to make a significant impact on worker safety across the state. You will work alongside experienced Compliance Safety Health Officers (CSHOs), conduct hazard assessments, and help maintain safe working environments. Requirements

• Familiarity with OSHA standards, codes, and hazard recognition across construction, general industry, and agricultural settings.
• Proficiency in physical measurement tools, photographic documentation, and software tools (Salesforce, Google Suite, Excel).
• Strong oral communication for interviews and clear narrative writing skills for technical reports.
• Valid, class-appropriate driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (for positions requiring state vehicle operation).
• Successful completion of E-Verify.
• All work (including remote work) must be performed within Arizona.

Nice To Haves

• An Associate degree in Safety/Environmental Science (or OSHA/ADOSH coursework).
• Experience with root cause accident analysis.
• Prior involvement on workplace safety committees.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CSHOs to inspect job sites, evaluate physical, electrical, fall, and trenching hazards, interview personnel, and gather evidence.
• Research employer histories using OSHA eTools, log inspection data in Salesforce, and draft technical narrative reports.
• Evaluate employer remediation evidence to confirm hazards are fully corrected.
• Field public inquiries and serious incident reports via phone or walk-in, providing clear OSHA guidance.
• Engage in Arizona Management System (AMS) lean practices (gemba walks, huddle boards, team problem-solving) and complete technical safety training modules.
