About The Position

The Compliance Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the organization’s compliance audit and review process and supporting campuses in maintaining alignment with federal, state, and accreditation requirements. This role focuses on auditing documentation, monitoring practices, identifying risk, and making clear, actionable recommendations to strengthen compliance and consistency across campuses. The Compliance Operations Specialist works closely with campus and corporate teams to support readiness for accreditation and regulatory activities, promote standard processes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years compliance or operations experience in higher education.
  • Associate’s degree or 5 years relevant experience in higher education at an ACCSC accredited institution, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • This role requires up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage the organization’s internal compliance audit, and review process
  • Create and maintain a schedule and standardized review tools to ensure consistent, ongoing reviews across campuses
  • Conduct desktop audits and on-site evaluations to assess compliance, accuracy, and consistency of records and processes
  • Prepare clear summaries of results for leadership, outlining observations, risks, and recommended actions
  • Track and follow up on corrective action plans to ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Identify high-risk or priority areas and help to develop targeted audit plans to provide focused oversight until risks are resolved
  • Monitor trends to identify recurring issues and areas of risk, providing early guidance to address potential compliance concerns before they escalate
  • Maintain strong working relationships with campus and corporate leaders to support open communication and issue resolution
  • Identify and support compliance champions at each campus, building on site ownership of compliance
  • Work with leaders to strengthen processes, documentation, and consistency, including recommending improvements to enhance compliance and quality outcomes
  • Share best practices to promote consistency across campuses and functions
  • Assist with research, preparation, and submission of regulatory applications that support strategic initiatives
  • Oversee maintenance and organization of documentation relating to regulatory submissions and approvals
  • Support campuses in preparing documentation for ACCSC On-Site Evaluations and other regulatory reviews
  • Complete on-going training and professional development activities to keep abreast of state and accreditation rules and standards
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned
