About The Position

Great Falls Pre-Release Services, Inc. is seeking a Compliance Officer (CO) for its non-profit Community Corrections worksite, which includes three residential campuses. These facilities are minimum-security environments for adult male and female offenders transitioning back into the community. The role also supports a Jail Alternative program and a Community Service program. The Compliance Officer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Pre-Release Center, performing para-professional social services duties to support Correctional Treatment Specialists and residents. The CO may be required to work at any of the three facilities.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must meet all basic criteria of a Compliance Officer.
  • Must possess basic understanding in techniques of interpersonal relations with ability to establish, understand and be sensitive to resident needs.
  • Skills and experience working with the incarcerated and in re-entry work.
  • Able to lead others in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Ability to learn, understand and enforce security procedures, rules and policies, follow instructions and problem solve.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accountability of residents/clients’ whereabouts through head counts, walk throughs, pass checks and employment checks, including clients on electronic monitoring.
  • Maintain security and safety in the Center, including performing random room and area inspections for contraband.
  • Thoroughly in-process/out-process Residents, conduct periodic urinalysis and breath-testing, and take fingerprints and photos of new residents/clients.
  • Handle emergency situations such as walkaways, suicide attempts, or other life/safety concerns, issue warnings, and prepare disciplinary reports.
  • Prepare and update duty rosters for residents, supervise and follow up on required resident duties, and document daily activities and sign-in/out procedures in computer or log entries.
  • Report behavior changes or incidents to senior staff, provide crisis intervention, and monitor the dosage of prescription and non-prescription drugs and medication.
  • Advise Correctional Treatment Specialist staff of important client-related issues, such as medication changes, mood swings, or attitude disorders.
  • Oversee daily activities of residents and clients, support established treatment programs, and assist in the orientation and training of new employees, residents, interns, and volunteers.
  • Receive and account for monies from residents/clients, provide transportation as required, make authorized purchases, and provide input for policy or procedure changes.
  • Complete other duties as requested or assigned.
