Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
Five or more years of compliance, regulatory, or risk management experience within a financial institution or credit union, including leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of credit union regulations and consumer protection laws, including NCUA, CFPB, and Texas regulatory requirements.
Experience developing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and interpreting complex regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence, educate, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement and ethical business practices.

Nice To Haves

Professional compliance certification such as CUCO, CRCM, or an equivalent designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and continuously enhance the credit union's compliance management program, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and Texas state regulations.
Monitor regulatory changes, assess operational impacts, and guide business units through implementation of new or revised requirements.
Conduct compliance risk assessments, monitoring activities, and investigations while recommending practical solutions to mitigate risk.
Review marketing materials, disclosures, and communications to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws and regulatory requirements.
Develop and deliver compliance training that builds employee knowledge and promotes a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization.
Partner with leadership, internal audit, and business units to support enterprise risk initiatives, regulatory examinations, and compliance reporting.
Coach and develop compliance team members while providing strategic guidance to executive leadership and the Board on compliance matters.
Ensure third-party risk oversight and compliance.
