OBJECTIVE Reporting to the Director of Food Safety and Compliance, the Compliance Manager will support the Food Safety & Compliance team in managing private label programs, and facility certifications. This role will work closely with co-packers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure quality, food safety, and sustainability requirements are consistently met across all operations.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Familiarity with GFSI schemes, organic certification, and supplier audit processes
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance management (produce experience is an asset)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems (e.g., SharePoint, Smartsheet)
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping
  • Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software platforms and adapt to evolving customer requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel (occasionally) domestically and internationally

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing retailer portals (Oracle, TraceGains, Repositrak, Safety Chain, or similar platforms) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate private label development projects, including specification development, artwork and packaging review, and product approval tracking.
  • Maintain up-to-date private label documentation and ensure timely communication between procurement, sales, operations, and customer teams.
  • Support retailer and customer compliance submissions (e.g., product specifications, certifications, claims documentation).
  • Manage customer portals (including Oracle-based and other retailer platforms), ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of product information, specifications, compliance documentation, and new item setup.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for multiple customer systems, learning new platforms as required and ensuring all customer data and documentation are kept current to support product launches and ongoing business.
  • Coordinate responses to customer requests related to food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, sustainability, and product documentation.
  • Prepare and submit renewal applications, manage audit scheduling, and ensure continuous compliance with certification standards for regulatory inspections, 3rd party certifications, and customer audits.
  • Track corrective actions arising from customer, certification, regulatory, and internal audits until closure.
  • Support sustainability reporting and data collection initiatives as required.
  • Oversee the maintenance of QA documentation systems and compliance databases.
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support corporate and facility level food safety and quality projects as needed.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation related to imported produce, organic products, and customer requirements.
  • Assist with regulatory reviews of labels, packaging, and product claims.
  • Monitor changes to customer and regulatory requirements and coordinate updates to internal documentation.
  • Maintain digital quality and compliance systems, including document control, dashboards, reporting tools, and workflow automation.
  • Support continuous improvement of digital compliance processes and recommend efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Director of Food Safety and Compliance.
