About The Position

Genisys Credit Union is seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee the daily administration of its compliance program. This role is crucial for ensuring adherence to state and federal laws in all lending and account opening processes, acting as a strategic advisor to protect the Credit Union and its members. The position involves managing a team, staying ahead of regulatory changes, conducting audits, and translating complex requirements into operational strategies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of financial compliance experience.
  • At least 3 years of proven leadership in a management role.
  • A "detective’s eye" for detail and a "coach’s heart" for leadership.
  • Ability to identify process gaps and lead teams to resolve them.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex legal requirements to various stakeholders.

  • Professional certifications (like the CUCE).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Compliance Specialists.
  • Monitor and anticipate changes in NCUA, DIFS, and legislative regulations.
  • Ensure deep subject matter expertise across consumer, mortgage, and business lending.
  • Translate complex regulatory requirements (e.g., Truth in Lending (Reg Z), RESPA/TILA, Dodd-Frank Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act) into compliant operational strategies.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Risk Management and Internal Audit to address exam findings and implement improvements.
  • Conduct deep-dive audits into Fair Lending practices.
