About The Position

The Manager of Equity & Compliance and Title IX Coordinator position ensures compliance with Title IX, Title VII, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and other state, federal, and civil laws and institutional policies related to equity, non-discrimination, and harassment. This role is responsible for institutional policy oversight, case management, investigations, training, response to reports, and institutional risk mitigation, while fostering a campus environment grounded in equity, accountability, and respect. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that operates at the intersection of legal compliance, HR, student affairs, and institutional culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Five years of experience in Title IX / civil rights compliance, employee relations, HR, student conduct and/or investigations, or regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Title IX regulations, grievance procedures, employment law, and higher education compliance frameworks
  • Experience handling various types of investigations related to equity, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, gender-based violence, and/or Title IX violations.
  • Experience developing and leading training and education programs to multiple constituencies assessing training effectiveness.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and case management skills
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive matters with discretion and neutrality.
  • Satisfactory Background Check
  • Will require after-hours responsiveness for urgent situations

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or JD strongly preferred
  • Master’s degree or JD
  • Title IX or civil rights investigation certification (e.g., ATIXA)
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Familiarity with Clery Act, VAWA, and FERPA

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain relevant policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements and recommend policy updates to align with evolving regulations.
  • Receive and respond to reports and complaints of sexual misconduct and harassment, discrimination, and bias complaints and retaliation concerns.
  • Conduct initial assessments, determine appropriate response pathways, and coordinate supportive measures for complainants and respondents.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case records.
  • Conduct investigations into alleged violations, ensuring investigations are prompt, thorough, impartial, and equitable.
  • Coordinate resolution processes (informal and formal).
  • Coordinate hearings, informal resolutions, and adjudication processes in partnership with HR, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Campus Safety, and Legal Counsel.
  • Develop and deliver campus-wide training programs on Title IX and sexual misconduct prevention, anti-discrimination and harassment, responsible employee obligations, bystander intervention and reporting, for all stakeholders, including investigators, hearing panelists, and faculty, staff, and students.
  • Maintain required records under Title IX and related laws, prepare reports for audits, compliance reviews, and leadership, track trends, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Implements and administers requirements for reporting, record-keeping, and retention of documentation and information regarding training, investigations, supportive measures, hearings, dispositions, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Ensure timely implementation of supportive measures (academic, housing, workplace adjustments), assess safety risks, and coordinate interventions.
  • Serves as the institutional ADA/Section 504 Coordinator.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
