To safeguard the life and health of the citizens of Louisiana by ensuring that persons practicing as Registered Nurses and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses are competent and safe. The incumbent will investigate matters that impact Registered Nurse licensure, student eligibility, advancement/clinical progression, and report to the Compliance Team Leader. The incumbent will utilize sound judgment to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and procedures, and demonstrate initiative in handling non-routine situations. Requires the exercise of a high degree of confidentiality essential in the execution of administrative duties. Involves frequent contact with Registered Nurse licensees, applicants, student nurses, schools of nursing, employers, other state and federal agencies, hospital administrators, regulatory agencies, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies in Louisiana and nationwide, among others.
