Compliance Engineer, Level 3
About The Position
Answers technical questions related to the certification process and the product safety standard. Participates in multiple standards committees. Creates technical documents for design engineering. Writes proposals for new requirements in standard committees. Assist with product design and development by providing guidance based on technical knowledge and experience for compliance related activities. Develop and manages training across the design engineering team. Support the needs of existing products with design modifications for quality and cost improvements. Participate in the standards development process, working with standards technical committees to develop requirements for product standards. Communicate upcoming changes to standards and develop the necessary plans with engineering to meet all new or revised performance, construction and marking requirements without interruption to certifications. Train engineers on the Daikin Comfort Technology Certification Process and basic product requirements. Participate on cross functional teams to launch new products, product modifications, resolve issues, and support product improvements. Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
Requirements
- Expertise in both national and international standards that define product safety requirements for HVAC products.
- Experience in technical writing and presentations.
- Team working skills - must be able to obtain results collaborating with a diverse team.
- Customer focused – must create and maintain positive relationships.
- Project management skills.
- Advanced understanding of the following: UL, CSA, CE, RoHs, NEC, ETL, Nom and ANSI.
- Advanced communication Skills - Written & Verbal, able to interface with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with software including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- 8- 15 years of experience with domestic and international compliance and certification programs.
- BS – Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Major.
Nice To Haves
- UL 60355-2-40, HVAC standard experience preferred.
- Experience with HVAC/ Refrigeration/ Combustion/Gas Furnace certifications preferred.
