About The Position

The Compliance Coordinator I - Human Resources provides administrative support to the Human Resources Compliance team and helps to ensure that the Company and each work site is compliant with all applicable employment and human resources compliance related regulations, including the completion of all required paperwork. This position requires extensive contact with the various departments at the corporate level as well as with subsidiaries and is also responsible for administrative duties related to compliance with Company policies in addition to federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources, as well as federal and state safety regulations, preferred
  • Experience as a federal contractor, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources, as well as federal and state safety regulations

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the benefits team, employees, and Company leadership to ensure accurate and timely communication regarding leaves of absence and other related requests.
  • Provide Company responses to unemployment processes: gather and provide responses to unemployment claims, respond to state determinations, and prepare employees or outside representatives with defense statements for unemployment claims hearings.
  • Respond to disability verifications, employment verification requests, and other related processes.
  • Administer the review of various Company posters, policies, and sites along with maintaining compliance with the Company's federal, state, and local posters thru J.J. Keller.
  • Assist with the state paid leave process.
  • Assist with testing Workday's capabilities and communicate as needed when functionality does/does not meet desired outcomes.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle confidential employee records.
  • Recommend improved processes to enhance or expedite HR processes.
  • Answer telephone inquiries and direct calls, as appropriate.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Oversee the FMLA process: provide forms, prepare documentation, track leave status, run reports, and research federal and state regulations, as needed.
  • Administer the process for military leave, paid parental leave, caregiver leave, and personal leave of absence processes: provide documents, prepare documentation, advise employees and managers, and track leave status.
  • Manage the retirement and termination process.
  • Prepare employee documents for the Legal Department in response to subpoenas.
  • Update HR systems to ensure accurate and confidential employee records are maintained.
  • Assist with the drug/alcohol and DOT physical recertification processes.
  • Provide guidance on Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain various reports and spreadsheets and ensure up-to-date records.
  • Provide HR support to current and potential employees along with subsidiary management and employees, as needed.
  • Scan and index documents into appropriate files, as needed.
