About The Position

The Compliance and Enterprise Risk Manager will be responsible for the monitoring of business activities for compliance with applicable rules and regulations. The Compliance and Enterprise Risk Manager will report to General Counsel and work closely with all teams as needed. This role involves assisting the General Counsel in managing the company’s Compliance & Ethics Program, developing and implementing corporate policies, overseeing training strategies for legal compliance, performing due diligence on third parties, managing the company's confidential compliance concern reporting system, and investigating compliance issues. Additionally, the role supports the development of enterprise-wide risk policies and strategies, implements risk management programs, conducts risk assessments, and collaborates with stakeholders on risk mitigation. The position also involves developing reporting systems for risk communication, fostering a compliance-based and risk-aware culture, and providing support for legal operations, research, and department goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 + years related experience
  • Paralegal certification
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and be willing to adapt to change as needed day-to-day.
  • Candidates for positions with SK on Tennessee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of paralegal experience and compliance
  • Experience working in a manufacturing organization preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor business activities for compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Assist the General Counsel in the management of the company’s Compliance & Ethics Program, including development and continuous improvement.
  • Work cross functionally to develop and implement corporate policies, from research and benchmarking through to implementation and on-going assessment.
  • Assist the General Counsel in the development and deployment of the training strategy for legal compliance policies and external regulatory rules.
  • Oversee administration of programs through online learning platforms.
  • Create and maintain internal in person training materials on selected matters.
  • Perform compliance due diligence on third parties, suppliers, vendors and other companies as required.
  • Manage the company’s Compliance & Ethics Program (CEP).
  • Manage the company’s confidential compliance concern reporting system.
  • Monitor and investigate internal compliance issues and external inquiries/investigations.
  • Assist in the development/continuous improvement of the CEP.
  • Work cross-functionally to plan and implement the rollout of compliance and ethics programs.
  • Assist the General Counsel and ERM leadership in the development of enterprise-wide risk policies and strategies.
  • Implement enterprise-wide risk management programs, projects and associated processes in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities across business units including risks to the Compliance and Ethics Program.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish risk tolerance levels and risk mitigation plans.
  • Develop and maintain a robust reporting system to communicate risk profiles and mitigation strategies to key stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, highlighting key risk indicators and the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, finance, HR and operations, to ensure a holistic approach to compliance and risk management.
  • Foster a compliance based and risk-aware culture by promoting communication and awareness of compliance and enterprise risk-related issues at all levels of the organization.
  • Participate in other projects that relate to the overall goals of the department and enterprise including assisting the General Counsel in legal operations, legal research, and support of the department goals.
