Requirements

  • 3-5 years compliance, risk management, BSA, audit, and/or related experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act banking.
  • Proven ability to read and understand laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter and work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the VP, Director of Compliance & Community Reinvestment, read, research and keep up to date on changing laws and regulations in the areas of BSA, AML, and CTF.
  • Provide Oversight of the Bank’s BSA/AML/CTF Program. Including but not limited to oversight of the Bank’s BSA/AML/CTF software and any enhancements or changes.
  • Conducting daily monitoring and oversight of additional monitoring conducted by branches or other team members related to BSA/AML.
  • Act as a resource for employees on questions relating to BSA and risk related matters.
  • Participate in various internal audits, committees, and examinations.
  • Establish and recommend BSA/AML related compliance training curricula for occupations and roles within the bank. Ensure training is appropriate and ongoing for each role on an annual basis.
  • Complete all regulatory required reporting in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures established to support the BSA/AML/CTF Program.
  • Prepare and present the annual BSA Report and Risk Assessments to the Audit Committee.
  • Address and comply with any recommendations from internal audits, committees, and/or examinations.
  • Performs internal additional monitoring, according to the established monitoring schedule, to assure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Serve in regulatory capacities for STAR Financial Bank as may be assigned by the VP, Director of Compliance & CRA.
  • Risk Assess the branch footprint of the bank to adjust frequency of monitoring based on needs or changes in environment, staffing, or risk. Schedule and communicate the Branch Risk schedule with retail team and management.
  • Work with departments to incorporate solutions or provide training to address any Compliance Management System or BSA Program weaknesses identified.
  • Represent the Compliance department on committees and as a department liaison to other departments to ensure compliance obligations are met and addressed prior to launch of projects.
  • Assist various business units with product launches, review marketing materials, policy and procedure updates, to ensure inclusivity and compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of financial crime trends or patterns to identify increasing or mitigated risks to the Bank.
