About The Position

The Documents Compliance Analyst owns compliance decisions that determine whether healthcare professionals are cleared to work. The role covers background check disqualification decisions, credential and risk review, and implementation of new state requirements. The analyst sets consistent decision standards and serves as the named decision-maker for difficult cases. This is an individual-contributor role, not a people management position, with recurring compliance work and fixed-calendar obligations. The analyst works with Agents, SMEs, Team Leads, and Legal, none of whom report to this role, and reports to the Head of the Documents Team. Responsibilities include written risk analysis, evaluating new state and agency requirements, assessing their impact on workers, documenting decisions so others can apply them consistently, and managing recurring verification and reporting operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience.
  • Prior experience applying regulations to real decisions.
  • Experience interpreting statutes, regulations, or agency guidance and translating them into operational requirements.
  • Willingness to maintain overlapping working hours with Eastern and Pacific time (ET/PT).

Nice To Haves

  • Compliance, regulatory, or licensing experience in healthcare, staffing, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience at a government or regulatory agency.
  • Experience with independent contractor or marketplace models.
  • Experience with background check adjudication or adverse action processes.
  • Experience with state licensing filings.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the named escalation point for background check disqualification decisions.
  • Make the initial call on agency compliance implementation.
  • Handle escalations on worker credential verification, including license violations and reprimands.
  • Determine which questions to resolve and document independently and which require partnering with Legal.
  • Produce consistent risk analyses that cover the question, research, reasoning, and recommended path.
  • Evaluate new state and agency requirements before implementation, quantify their cost to workers in time, money, and completion rate, and recommend how to implement them.
  • Build and maintain a decision record that enables others to reach consistent conclusions.
  • Own credential verification audits.
  • Plan and drive implementation of high-value requirements, such as continuing education.
  • Manage state license renewals and ongoing state reporting.
