About The Position

Under minimal supervision, ensures GEICO processes, procedures, systems, and correspondence are in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Provides legal and regulatory research and support for GEICO. Recommends changes to ensure compliance.

Requirements

Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing and speaking
Must be able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and levels of leadership through multiple modes of communication
Must be willing to provide excellent customer service and build rapport with stakeholders
Must be able to handle heavy volume in a fast-paced work environment, resolve complex business problems and handle complicated issues
Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting skills
Must be able to multi-task
Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
Compliance background, with operational experience preferred.
Underwriting process experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Identifies and evaluates revised, pending, or new Legal and Regulatory notices.
Determines applicability to GEICO.
Recommends changes to ensure compliance.
Notifies and coordinates with appropriate staff when a state declares a moratorium.
Evaluates processes, procedures, systems, and correspondence.
Documents findings.
Recommends new processes or procedures to eliminate non-compliance.
Presents findings and recommendations in writing and communicates with all levels of leadership.
Coordinates implementation and monitors changes to processes, procedures, systems, or correspondence and re-evaluates to ensure non-compliance has been eliminated or mitigated.
Responds to questions regarding the potential compliance of a proposed procedure.
Researches state laws, rules and regulations to find applicable compliance issues, communicates issues with GEICO’s Legal partners and handles questions on procedures regarding findings and applicable Regulatory Alerts.
Meets attendance standard at business location, to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers.
Adheres to the Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles.
