About The Position

The Compliance Analyst (Legal) evaluates legal, regulatory, and financial risk related to Operating Company compliance, primarily in North America and Puerto Rico. This role supports the Employment Practices & Compliance function of Allegis Corporate Services by monitoring and interpreting compliance requirements and trends and by helping the Employment Practices & Compliance team and Operating Companies develop and implement compliance strategies. Responsibilities include reviewing current policies, procedures, and systems to support compliance with applicable provincial, federal, state, and local laws and regulations across the organization, as well as performing quality reviews of machine-generated French translations in support of the francization program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, or 2 years of relevant experience in employment law or employment compliance (required)
  • Fluency in written and spoken French, Canadian French, and English (required)
  • Knowledge of U.S. employment and labor law and related practices, including the employee lifecycle: hiring and selection, onboarding, employment screening, wage and hour, offboarding and separation, and other key employment practices
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong consulting skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Outlook Calendar

Responsibilities

  • Track new federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations. Key focus areas include employment agreements, fair labor standards, employment screening, federal reporting, leave, employment policies and practices, pay transparency, salary history and minimum salary requirements, and required training.
  • Interpret these laws and regulations, assess their impact across lines of business, and apply them to our Operating Companies. Consult counsel as needed.
  • Provide legal and regulatory updates and summaries to Employment Practices & Compliance and Operating Company stakeholders.
  • Review machine-generated French and Canadian French translations for accuracy.
  • Identify issues, recommend actions, and escalate incidents of noncompliance to Compliance leadership as needed.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze compliance-related data on a recurring and ad hoc basis.
  • Coordinate internal reviews to ensure compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as needed.
