About The Position
Lethbridge Collegiate Institute High School is seeking a grade 9 Complexity Teacher to join their team and support their diverse community with a student first approach. The successful candidate will be an eager and enthusiastic educator who has experience with working with students with complex needs, demonstrating patience and emotional steadiness, providing flexible, responsive instruction, collaborating, experimenting, and adjusting pedagogy, using a strength-based approach with students, engaging and advocating for families, and building strong and authentic relationships with students and colleagues. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
Requirements
- Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
- A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
- Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
- Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.

- Implements effective classroom management strategies that foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where all students can thrive
- Integrates technology purposefully and effectively to enhance teaching and learning experiences
- Embodies the qualities of a reflective professional, actively engaging in ongoing professional learning aligned with Alberta's Teaching Quality Standard (TQS)
- Demonstrates commitment to building and maintaining respectful, professional relationships within the school community
- Values and actively participates in collaborative practice and teamwork with colleagues, students, and families
- Contributes actively to school culture, student activities, and extracurricular programs while developing effective partnerships within the school and broader community
