About The Position

The Complex Strategic Program Manager (CPM) is a leadership role within Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Private Cloud and Flex Solutions business. The CPM delivers large-scale, multi-site private cloud solutions as integrated programs, coordinating HPE technologies—including compute, storage, networking, and software—with Deployment Services, Professional Services, Managed Services, Local PMOs, third-party partners, and customer teams. The CPM engages early in the sales lifecycle as part of the Center of Excellence pursuit team to help ensure solutions are deliverable as sold. The role provides end-to-end leadership from order and factory build (Day 0), through deployment (Day 1), migration (Day 2), and transition to Managed Services operations (Day M). It requires program management expertise, technical understanding, relationship management, cross-functional leadership, executive-level communication, strong governance, and attention to detail. The CPM leads programs whose products and delivery responsibilities are owned across separate business units and organizations. The role drives alignment, manages dependencies, resolves issues, escalates risks, and leads recovery efforts when outcomes are at risk. The position is hybrid, with an average of two days per week required at an HPE office, and requires willingness to travel globally up to 20%.

  • Own and maintain the integrated master schedule from order through delivery and execution, accounting for product release timelines, material availability, dependencies, and critical-path activities.
  • Oversee execution across factory build, deployment, migration waves, cutovers, rollback planning, and hypercare, coordinating internal teams and customers.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, governance, and go/no-go readiness reviews throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Ensure customer communications are consistent, coordinated, and delivered through agreed governance channels.
  • Identify and communicate issues early, including business impact assessments and recovery plans.

  • Drive formal change control processes for scope, schedule, and cost impacts.
  • Assess troubled or at-risk programs, identify root causes, develop recovery strategies, and restore execution health and stakeholder confidence.
  • Take accountability for overall program outcomes, influence decisions and alignment across teams without direct authority, and escalate strategically when required.
