About The Position

The Division of Complex Health Care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine is actively seeking a qualified Pediatrician or Med-Peds physician to join their team. The Division provides primary and specialty care to children and adults with complex medical needs, focusing on a holistic, family-centered approach to improve health outcomes by reducing fragmentation of care. The Division encompasses the Complex Health Care Clinic, the Comprehensive Cerebral Palsy Program, and the Comprehensive Pediatric Feeding Program. Additionally, there is a consultative inpatient program and a complex care fellowship. The successful candidate will join an expanding, interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, dieticians, care coordinators, nurses, medical assistants, and a pharmacist. Opportunities exist within the Division’s programs and other clinical teams at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Leadership roles within the Division are available and encouraged. Core activities of the department include research, quality improvement, education, and advocacy. The program is the lead site for the Cerebral Palsy Research Network and is actively involved in improving care for children in Ohio through the Partners for Kids Accountable Care Organization.

Requirements

  • BC/BE in Pediatrics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think critically
  • Strong medical background to provide outstanding medical care
  • Understanding of the importance of teamwork
  • Experience caring for individuals with medical complexity required
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required.
  • Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.
  • Medical License in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Unrestricted licensed physician, required.
  • Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
  • Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.
