About The Position

As the Complex Automobile Casualty Adjuster at Oncor, you are responsible for investigating, negotiating and resolving complex, high value automobile casualty claims from inception to resolution.

Requirements

  • Highly organized; ability to negotiate settlements and deal with confrontational situations in a professional and effective manner.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent and 7+ years of experience handling general liability and bodily injury claims of medium to high level of complexity/severity required.
  • Must currently possess a Texas drivers’ license.
  • Must currently possess a Texas Dept. of Insurance Adjuster’s License.
  • Must maintain a safe driving record while working at Oncor in this role.
  • Provide timely, accurate and fair resolution of claims and complaints to limit financial and regulatory exposure to Oncor.
  • Ability to operate effectively as a member of a small and high-performing team.
  • Ability to work across Company lines with diverse work groups to resolve claims.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, works safely alone and with others and has minimal unexcused time-off.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of automobile liability claims, including high severity property damage, bodily injury and multi-party losses.
  • Initiate and conduct thorough investigations to include taking recorded statements, determining liability, ordering police reports, speaking with witnesses and canvassing the area for surveillance footage.
  • Review vehicle estimates, evaluate medical records and bills manually, respond to attorney demands and property damage subrogation demands.
  • Negotiate and render a fair and reasonable settlement and attend mediations/trials if warranted.
  • Establish and maintain proper reserves for each claim based on the potential exposures.
  • Roundtable discussions with internal partners to include our Legal Department, for complex cases.
  • Respond to calls for emergency claims assistance and investigation on a 24 X 7 basis if warranted.
  • Maintain proper documentation of claims information to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
