Completions Tech Spec I - Apps Developer
About The Position
This position assists with the planning, coordination, and performance of design, analysis, and liaison engineering to support the development and production of the company's products and services. The role involves designing, building, and deploying internal web applications end-to-end using modern tooling and practices. This includes working across the full stack, containerizing applications with Docker, establishing CI/CD pipelines, and migrating existing applications from legacy infrastructure to modern, containerized deployments. The individual will collaborate directly with end users - engineers, 3D designers - to understand workflows, iterate on solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to architecture decisions to shape the team’s technical direction during modernization efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- 5 yrs in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
- 3+ years of experience building and deploying full-stack applications in a professional setting.
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; familiarity with additional languages a plus.
- Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitLab CI, or similar).
- Comfort working in Linux environments for deployment and server administration.
- Comfort working across multiple languages and frameworks without a strong preference for one stack.
- Demonstrated ability to independently take a project from concept to production.
- Working knowledge of AI/LLM integration: experience calling model APIs, building RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, or embedding AI capabilities into applications.
Nice To Haves
- Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
- Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
- The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
- Experience with FastAPI, React (Vite), or modern Python web frameworks.
- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Compose, or similar).
- Familiarity with aerospace, manufacturing, or other complex engineering domains.
- Experience with Git and Azure DevOps for version control.
- Deeper AI/ML experience: fine-tuning models, vector databases (FAISS, pgvector), anomaly detection, or document classification.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects.
- Provides specialized technical assistance to team members.
- Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
- Works under limited supervision; work should only be required to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives.
- Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
- Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
- Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Design, build, and deploy internal web applications end-to-end using modern tooling and practices.
- Work across the full stack: database design (SQL Server, Oracle), backend APIs (Python/FastAPI), and frontend interfaces (React/Vite with TypeScript).
- Containerize applications with Docker and help establish modern CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
- Help migrate existing applications off legacy Windows Server/IIS infrastructure to modern, containerized deployments.
- Collaborate directly with end users - engineers, 3D designers - to understand workflows and iterate on solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues across the entire stack, from database queries to container orchestration.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and help shape the team’s technical direction as we modernize.
