About The Position

The Completions Electrical Lead Eng I role in GAC Savannah involves guiding and directing a team of electrical liaison engineers and design engineers. Responsibilities include developing engineering task requirements, schedules, and packages for outfitting custom aircraft. The lead engineer will coordinate tasks, schedules, and design methodologies to create models and prints that demonstrate a complete understanding of component parts and assemblies. This role requires communication of project plans and constraints with leadership to ensure alignment with other projects and initiatives. The position requires proficiency in system-level wire diagram/schematic design for aircraft and experience in electrical system integration related to aircraft avionics, lighting, and audio/video entertainment systems. The lead electrical engineer will liaise with the shop on engineering issues, employ design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods to meet manufacturing quality and schedule requirements, and support/develop training plans and continuous improvement initiatives for the team. Engineering design work includes creating drawings/models using CATIA V5 or AutoCAD interconnected with SmarTeam. Knowledge of CHS / EHI toolset is also required. Preferred skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, a related curriculum required, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 5 years related engineering experience with Bachelors.
  • Proficient in System level Wire Diagram/Schematic design for aircraft.
  • Experience in Electrical System integration related to Aircraft Avionics, Lighting, and Audio/Video Entertainment systems.
  • Knowledge of CHS / EHI toolset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Direct employee supervision responsibilities.

  • Master's Degree Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years or Ph.D. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 4 years.
