About The Position

The Completions Electrical Lead Eng I in GAC Savannah will execute engineering tasks of moderate complexity with predetermined performance objectives by providing direction to engineering employees within similar disciplines working within a single department. This role involves developing and evaluating plans for activities, assessing feasibility and soundness of proposed methods and analysis to achieve technical product cost and schedule requirements. The Lead Electrical Engineer will supervise activities of subordinate employees, plan, coordinate and direct complex engineering projects, and provide technical guidance to ensure product quality and schedule adherence. This position also involves training new engineers, potentially assisting in budget preparation and employee evaluations, and actively working to improve daily processes to meet customer requirements. The role requires maintaining current knowledge of technical developments and applications in the assigned field of expertise.

Requirements

  • Proficient in System level Wire Diagram/Schematic design for aircraft.
  • Experience in Electrical System integration related to Aircraft Avionics, Lighting, and Audio/Video Entertainment systems.
  • Engineering design work includes the creation of drawings/models using either CATIA V5 or AutoCAD interconnected with SmarTeam.
  • Knowledge of CHS / EHI toolset.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, a related curriculum required, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 5 years related engineering experience with Bachelors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interacts mainly with subordinates internal to the organization.
  • Has direct employee supervision responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Guiding and directing a team of electrical liaison engineers and design engineers.
  • Developing engineering task requirements, schedules, and engineering packages in support of outfitting custom aircraft.
  • Coordinating tasks, schedules, and design methodologies to build models and prints that demonstrate a complete understanding required for component parts and assemblies to an end item level.
  • Communicating project plans and constraints with leadership to ensure alignment to other projects and initiatives.
  • Liaising with the shop on engineering issues.
  • Employing design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods to meet manufacturing quality and schedule requirements.
  • Supporting/developing training plans and continuous improvement initiatives for the team.
  • Developing and evaluating plans for activities and assessing feasibility and soundness of proposed methods and analysis to achieve technical product cost and schedule requirements.
  • Supervising activities of subordinate employees who perform similar tasks within a technical discipline by using established policies and precedents.
  • Planning, coordinating and directing a complex engineering project or a number of smaller projects with moderate complexity.
  • Providing technical guidance to ensure quality of product and schedule.
  • Training new engineers in methods and procedures.
  • Assisting in budget preparation and employee evaluations.
  • Actively working to improve daily processes and ensuring all work meets customer requirements.
  • Maintaining a current knowledge of developments and applications of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
