About The Position

Veeam is seeking a motivated AI Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Competitive Intelligence team. This internship is designed for students entering their final year of university who are eager to gain meaningful, real-world experience in a fast-paced, collaborative, and professional environment. As an intern, you will participate in a comprehensive onboarding experience, weekly professional development sessions, networking events, and social activities. The program runs from May to August 2027. This is a hands-on role where you will design, build, and ship working AI-powered tools that will benefit over 3,500 Sales Representatives, support global Marketing campaigns, help refine product roadmap decisions, and keep leadership informed of strategic market motions. Your deliverables will continue to be used after the internship concludes. You will also assist in fine-tuning existing AI tools.

Requirements

Practical experience with Anthropic Claude Chat bots, Cowork projects, Code projects, and Design projects (hands-on Claude experience beyond coursework).
Working knowledge of agentic/tool use patterns (function calling, RAG, basic orchestration).
Exposure to evaluating LLM output quality (building a test set, scoring responses, determining prompt effectiveness).
Exposure to version control basics for recoverability and review.
Python proficiency, including API integration, data parsing, and basic pipeline construction.
SQL exposure, with the ability to read and modify trivial transformation queries.
Ability to work with ambiguous, evolving requirements and iterate quickly within a 10-week timeframe.
Comfortable interviewing subject-matter experts to reverse-engineer workflows for automation.
Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or a graduate student in an accredited college or university in AI engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
Willingness to learn about technology.
Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment; must be a high-energy, motivated self-starter.
Understanding and operating within the team's competitive intelligence ethics policy.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, fine-tune, and manage AI chatbots, agents, and apps to automate, scale, and enhance the Competitive Intelligence team's processes.
Scale and accelerate market and competitive research.
Accelerate competitive data analysis.
Analyze and distribute competitive news to relevant stakeholders.
Predict competitors’ next strategic moves.
Automate the creation and upkeep of competitive Sales resources.
Challenge and strengthen competitive resources before sharing them with users.
Deliver contextual competitive insight to Sales teams at the right time and in the right format.
Further automate Competitive Intelligence helpdesk responses.
Design, build, and ship working AI-powered tools.
Fine-tune existing AI tools.
Deliver at least 1 functioning resource creation agent.
Deliver 1 functioning resource challenging agent.
Increase the Sales support AI agent’s response accuracy over 95%.
Help implement Competitive Intelligence helpdesk v2.
Design the AI-powered technical comparison table builder v2.
Deliver 1-2 other functioning projects defined collaboratively.
Document how to maintain the deliverables provided.
Collaborate with Competitive Intelligence team members and stakeholders such as Sales Representatives, Product Managers, and Product Marketers.
