About The Position

Portsmouth Public Schools is seeking a Competition Cheer Coach. This role requires extensive knowledge of the rules and skills in cheerleading, a program-centered approach, and the ability to exhibit good sportsmanship. The coach must also be familiar with VHSL rules and work effectively with children.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of the rules and skills in cheerleading.
• Program-centered approach.
• Specific skills in cheerleading.
• Good sportsmanship.
• Knowledge of VHSL rules.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Previously competed at the college level, club team, or professional level.
• Submit a standard on-line application.
• Submit two letters of reference.
• Submit a recent TB test or screening.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of coaching experience as an Assistant or Head Coach.
