The Texas Health and Specialty Care System (HSCS) seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as a Competency Restoration Services Coordinator (CRSC) within the Office of Forensic Services and Coordination (OFSC). This pivotal role performs highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services, technical assistance, program development, curriculum management, and statewide implementation work for Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) with a focus on the Texas Competency Restoration Curriculum for adults committed under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 46B as well as the Fitness to Proceed Curriculum for children committed under Health and Safety Code, Chapter 55 and related services. The CRSC serves as the statewide subject matter expert for the competency restoration curriculum and education and training, including inpatient competency restoration, jail-based competency restoration (JBCR), outpatient competency restoration (OCR). The CRSC provides statewide consultation and technical assistance to state hospitals, State Supported Living Centers, Local Mental Health Authorities, HHSC contracted competency restoration providers, community partners, and other stakeholders to promote evidence-based competency restoration practices, program consistency, and compliance with state law and HHSC standards. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
