About The Position

The Compensation Associate acts as the first point of contact for the HR Compensation inbox, reviewing, researching, and providing information for basic compensation inquiries. The Associate supports compensation-related analysis and reporting, researches internal jobs for comparative analysis, and analyzes job descriptions to assess the extent of changes. They provide technical and administrative support to the SFU HR Compensation team for daily compensation programs and activities. Under the direction of Compensation staff, the Associate offers administrative and research support in job evaluation and classification, calculates salary changes, prepares reports, and communicates classification results to management. The Associate conducts research and data analysis to aid in completing third-party compensation surveys, maintains job evaluation records, and develops and implements streamlined administrative processes.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management, or a related discipline and two years of related experience and exposure to a structured classification system in a unionized environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles of job design and job evaluation theory.
  • Knowledge of HR systems such as People Soft, SAPs, etc.
  • Good communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.

Responsibilities
