The Compensation Analyst works with various business units to assess job duties for classification and salary determination, and benchmark positions against market data to ensure competitive compensation. This role prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales, presents job and compensation analysis reports, and uses data analysis techniques to evaluate market trends. Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of relevant experience in the design, development, and administration of compensation programs, preferably in a large, multi-site global corporation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of compensation programs and philosophies.
  • Comfortable with MS Office programs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail experience preferred within a large, multi-site global corporation.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and/or Portuguese) considered a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, or related field
  • CCP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and surveys individual contributors and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheets, other tools, and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Evaluates and implements job analysis tools and materials.
  • Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in negotiations.
  • Research compensation and other benefits in similar industries; based on findings, recommend changes or updates to the company’s existing benefits or policies.
  • Plans and communicates preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
  • Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective agreements.
  • Perform cost analyses for compensation and other related programs
  • Prepares and analyzes changes in wages and salaries for pay policy compliance
  • Contributes to the design, development and implementation of compensation communication and training materials (e.g., incentive plan documentation, merit (RPM (Reward Performance Management)) program communications, FLSA compliance training)
  • Works with Operations and Commercial Operations, along with Controllers, to calculate and analyze quarterly Store and Field management short-term incentives
