About The Position

The Comparative Medicine Technician 2 is responsible for small animal husbandry, including the cleaning and maintenance of the animal facility. This role involves monitoring and reporting on environmental room and housing conditions, participating in animal health surveillance, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The technician must follow procedures to comply with operating and regulatory requirements related to animal care and assist with the guidance and training of new technicians. Additionally, the CM Tech 2 is responsible for the receipt and housing of small laboratory animals. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Small animal husbandry experience
  • Experience in cleaning and maintenance of animal facility
  • Experience monitoring and reporting on environmental room and housing conditions
  • Experience in animal health surveillance
  • Experience with record keeping
