The Comparative Medicine Technician I is responsible for basic sanitation, disinfection, and maintenance of the animal facility. This role involves daily record-keeping and operation of major laboratory equipment. The technician will perform general husbandry for laboratory animals, including stocking inventory of PPE and supplies. Responsibilities also include sanitizing laboratory spaces, such as animal holding rooms and cage wash areas, in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Autoclaving all equipment and maintaining temperature records for the autoclave and rack washer are also key duties. The technician will provide daily animal care to small animal species in the facility, and other duties may be assigned by management.
