About The Position

As a Housekeeping & Companion Aide at Maple Crest, you will play a dual role in maintaining cleanliness and providing companionship and support to elders. Your responsibilities include ensuring a safe and sanitary living environment while building meaningful relationships through engaging activities and one-on-one interaction.

Requirements

Willingness to care for older adults and commitment to the organization’s mission.
Familiarity with household cleaning and laundering.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid State of Ohio driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to maintain insurability per Employer policy.
Ability to complete and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in housekeeping, elder care, or companion roles.
Knowledge of infection control procedures, gerontology, and person-centered care practices.

Responsibilities

Performing a variety of housekeeping tasks such as: Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and showers.
Dusting furniture and cleaning blinds, windows, and screens.
Disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as phones, remotes, and door handles.
Organizing and cleaning cupboards and refrigerators.
Restocking paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, etc.).
Properly handling hazardous and infectious materials in accordance with safety protocols.
Reporting malfunctioning equipment and maintenance concerns to the Facilities Coordinator.
Providing one-on-one companionship and assistance to elders, ensuring their emotional and social well-being.
Monitoring and reporting changes in elders’ conditions to the Facilities Coordinator.
Engaging elders in activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
Assisting with meal preparation, serving meals, and ensuring dietary needs are met.
Transporting elders safely to off-site activities, medical appointments, and other locations using company vehicles.
Cleaning and maintaining elders’ apartments, including laundry, bed-making, and general tidying.
Responding to elder emergencies by providing first aid and administering CPR if necessary.
Maintain confidentiality of all information related to elders and their care.
Report relevant information discreetly to the Facilities Coordinator as necessary.
Comply with all Corporate Compliance Policies and the Code of Ethics.
