Companion Caregiver
About The Position
The Senior Company is looking for compassionate, dependable Companion Caregivers to provide friendship and everyday support to seniors throughout Bergen County, NJ. No certification or caregiving license is required—just a caring heart and a desire to make a difference. As a Companion Caregiver, you'll provide friendship, encouragement, and everyday support that helps seniors remain comfortable, independent, and engaged. Sometimes the most meaningful care comes from simply being there. Our companion clients receive care in private homes, assisted living communities, rehabilitation facilities, and hospitals throughout Bergen County. Whether you enjoy sitting and talking with seniors or prefer staying active by walking and chatting, we'll match you with clients that fit your personality.
Requirements
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Previous caregiving, hospitality, customer service, or companion experience is a plus—but not required
Responsibilities
- Providing companionship and meaningful conversation
- Going on walks or accompanying clients on outings
- Playing cards, games, or participating in hobbies
- Preparing simple meals and snacks
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Running errands or accompanying clients to appointments (when applicable)
- Providing encouragement, emotional support, and a friendly presence
