Companion Caregiver - No Certification Required
About The Position
The Senior Company is seeking compassionate and dependable Companion Caregivers to provide friendship and everyday support to seniors in private homes, assisted living communities, rehabilitation facilities, and hospitals throughout Bergen County, NJ. No certification or caregiving license is required, only a caring heart and a desire to make a difference. Responsibilities include providing companionship, accompanying clients on outings, playing games, preparing simple meals, assisting with light housekeeping and laundry, running errands, and offering emotional support. The company matches caregivers with clients based on personality, interests, and availability.
Requirements
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Previous caregiving, hospitality, customer service, or companion experience is a plus—but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
- Accompany clients on walks or outings
- Play cards, games, or participate in hobbies
- Prepare simple meals and snacks
- Assist with light housekeeping and laundry
- Run errands or accompany clients to appointments (when applicable)
- Offer encouragement, emotional support, and a friendly presence
