About The Position
L'Arche welcomes Assistants to live, work, and learn together with adults with developmental disabilities in our communities. We strive to shape a more human and just society by offering people of different abilities an experience of companionship, community, and belonging. L’Arche Edmonton is looking for 2 Community Support Workers for a group home in Edmonton (Night Awake).
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Acceptable Police Information Check that includes the Vulnerable Sector Check
Nice To Haves
- Certificate in Community Support Work, Disability Studies, Social Services, Health Care Aide, or related field
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
Responsibilities
- Support Individuals with disabilities during the night.
- Change protective underwear, wet clothes and bedding.
- Assist individuals in the washroom.
- Lifting and transferring.
- Attend to medical needs and monitor concerns.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Washing floors
- Cleaning washrooms
- Doing laundry
- Watering plants
- Other household chores
- Support Individual with disabilities in the morning.
- Medication administration
- Personal care
- Breakfast
