About The Position
The Community Support Specialist – CSBG ASPIRE Program (Sampson County) provides direct support and service coordination to individuals and families working toward self-sufficiency. This position is responsible for developing individualized service plans, connecting participants to community resources, and ensuring compliance with program requirements and professional standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field
- 2 years of experience in case management, community support, or social services preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of community resources and public assistance programs
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to apply professional judgment and maintain accountability
- Proficiency in case management systems, Microsoft Office, and data entry
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Ability to perform duties involving physical activity
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized service plans
- Connect participants to community resources and services
- Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance
