The Community Support Program & Recovery Pathways (CSP) is a community-based rehabilitation model designed to assist persons with serious mental illness in living independently. Community Support Specialists provide assistance with learning skills for independent living, accessing community resources, finding appropriate and affordable housing, receiving entitlements, linking with appropriate treatment sources, coordinating care with collateral providers, and assisting with money management. They also help clients achieve other recovery goals. Specialists can act as liaisons with state acute care facilities and general hospitals. The program aims to teach clients the skills necessary to meet their own needs and provides advocacy services for clients to receive appropriate clinical services, housing benefits, and human rights. The program's duration can be time-limited or long-term, depending on the client's needs and LOCUS score.
