About The Position

The Community Supervision Officer supervises a caseload of misdemeanor and felony offenders placed on community supervision by the criminal courts of Brazoria County. Request for official transcripts will be required upon selection for interview.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, corrections, counseling, rehabilitative studies, social work, psychology, sociology or a related field conferred by an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in full-time casework or counseling
  • Current certification as a community supervision officer
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring compliance with court-ordered conditions through office and field contacts
  • Conducting assessments
  • Developing case supervision plans
  • Communicating effectively with defendants
  • Interacting effectively and professionally with all levels of department personnel and other criminal justice-related personnel
