Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Community Services’ division seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the Data Analyst IV position within Business Operations. Community Services is a division within Behavioral Health, Disability & Aging Services (BHDAS). The ideal candidate excels in teamwork, upholds high standards and accountability, embraces curiosity and learning, applies critical thinking to tasks, and uses creativity for innovation. Reporting to the Manager of Data and System Operations, the Data Analyst IV handles advanced data analysis and research tasks. Work consists of analyzing data, researching extensively, delivering results, creating interactive dashboards, and ensuring data quality. The position supports all Community Services programs and initiatives division-wide. Serves as a subject matter expert in data analysis, data quality, reporting, and performance measurements. Analyzes content, structure, and relationships within data to identify trends, patterns, gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement. Works closely with program stakeholders to understand business requirements, develops reporting solutions, and supports data-driven decision making. Provides recommendations regarding systematic changes that improve data collection processes and aligns data infrastructure with business needs. May mentor staff and provide technical guidance related to reporting, analytics, and data visualization initiatives. Additional responsibilities include reporting activities for the division through the preparation and analysis of a variety of data. This encompasses, but is not limited to, Community Services measurements of success, program metrics, legislative budget board performance, as well as workforce, financial, system, and management reports. May provide guidance to others through mentorship and training regarding analytics tools, data interpretation, reporting methodologies, and best practices. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
