About The Position

Federal Work-Study positions are part-time positions hired each semester and are for current Ivy Tech students. The Community Service Retail, Warehouse & Facilities Assistant will support Kokomo Rescue Mission’s community-service operations. The student will gain practical experience in customer service, donation processing, inventory management, warehouse operations, facilities support, and professional workplace practices while helping the organization serve individuals and families throughout the community.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Student must have completed the current FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need.
• Must be enrolled in at least 1 credit hour of eligible courses.
• Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status.
• The student cannot have any incomplete financial aid requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and donors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Receive, sort, tag, display, and restock donated merchandise.
• Organize inventory, supplies, storage areas, and workspaces.
• Assist with approved loading, unloading, and material-handling tasks.
• Help maintain clean, safe, and orderly retail, warehouse, and facility areas.
• Support basic administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and record organization.
• Assist with approved community events, outreach activities, and special projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
