About The Position

Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority (ImCal HSA) exists so that citizens with mental health, addictions, and developmental challenges residing in the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis are empowered, and self-determination is valued such that individuals live a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing life. We're looking for a Community Service Professional to join our Developmental Disabilities Division. Our Developmental Disabilities Division is committed to ensuring quality services, serving as the Single Point of Entry (SPOE) into the developmental disabilities services system.

Requirements

• Four years of experience in providing health or developmentally disabled services, counseling, health care management, or social services; OR Six years of full-time work experience plus one year of experience in providing health or developmentally disabled services, counseling, health care management, or social services; OR A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in providing health or developmentally disabled services, counseling, health care management, or social services; OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field, nursing, public health; public, hospital, or health administration; speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders; physical, occupational, recreational, or music therapy.
• Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Receive/screen inquiries/calls from people contacting the Regional Office, and initiate appropriate dispositions to assist them.
• Conduct assessments, refer, and develop support profiles/support plans for persons seeking system entry or services within the Developmental Disabilities Service System.
• Assist individuals in choosing appropriate goals/services, and make recommendations for specific support needs based on information gathered through assessments, personal interviews, and outside sources.
• Analyzes evaluative information, identifies and prioritizes support needs/resources, develops support components, and/or initiates referrals to alternative entities.
• Outlines appropriate specialized services for program participants based on the support plan and other pertinent data gathered during the interview with the program applicant/participant.
• Plans and coordinates statewide program elements as appropriate to the individual's needs.
• Monitors applicable program elements for individual satisfaction and for fiscal soundness.
