This position focuses on building meaningful, trust-based relationships with Latino families and the broader community to strengthen enrollment, attendance, and student success. As a trusted liaison between home and school, the Community Service Ambassador ensures Latino families feel welcomed, respected, and fully connected to the school community by reducing language and access barriers, increasing communication, and helping families navigate school systems and available resources with confidence. This is a highly relational and community-centered role for someone who understands the strengths, values, and needs of Latino communities and believes deeply in the power of authentic family engagement. The Community Service Ambassador supports recruitment and enrollment efforts, facilitates culturally responsive communication, and connects families to both school-based and community resources that support student and family well-being. The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, culturally responsive, and comfortable working both in school buildings and throughout the community. They are organized, dependable, and skilled at building credibility, coordinating outreach and engagement efforts, maintaining accurate records, and creating meaningful opportunities for Latino families to actively engage in and contribute to the life and success of the school.

Requirements

  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written), with the ability to translate and interpret clearly and accurately.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Latino communities in schools, community organizations, social services, or nonprofit settings.
  • Proven ability to build authentic relationships and trust with families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Experience supporting family engagement, outreach, recruitment, or community-based programming.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and follow through consistently.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality when working with students and families.
  • Comfortable working both in school settings and within the community, including occasional evenings or weekend events as needed.
  • Experience supporting enrollment, attendance improvement, or student/family engagement initiatives in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with community resources and Latino-serving organizations within the local area.
  • Experience coordinating events, workshops, or volunteer activities for families or community members.
  • Knowledge of school systems, educational terminology, and processes related to enrollment, attendance, and student supports.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary liaison and trusted point of contact for Latino families, ensuring consistent, respectful, and culturally responsive communication between home and school.
  • Provide bilingual (Spanish/English) communication support through translation, interpretation, and proactive outreach to ensure families fully understand school expectations, opportunities, and resources.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to families regarding attendance, academic expectations, enrollment steps, and student support to strengthen engagement and partnership.
  • Advocate for family needs by listening to concerns, identifying barriers, and connecting families to appropriate school-based and community resources.
  • Support student recruitment and enrollment growth by building relationships with prospective families and serving as a welcoming first point of contact for Latino communities.
  • Partner with school teams to clearly communicate enrollment timelines, required documentation, and next steps in a supportive and culturally responsive manner.
  • Represent Educational Solutions at community events, churches, local businesses, and neighborhood gatherings to increase awareness and trust within Latino communities.
  • Support and track outreach efforts to ensure consistent follow-up with prospective families and strong conversion to enrollment.
  • Conduct family meetings and conferences to strengthen trust, gather information, and support student success and well-being.
  • Coordinate with school leaders, teachers, and support staff to ensure families receive timely updates and appropriate academic or social-emotional supports.
  • Conduct home visits when appropriate to strengthen relationships, address barriers, and support consistent student attendance and engagement.
  • Ensure families understand and can access school expectations, resources, and support systems that contribute to student success.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Latino-serving organizations, community agencies, faith-based groups, and local leaders to expand support networks for families.
  • Develop and maintain referral pathways for services such as healthcare, food access, housing support, workforce resources, and counseling.
  • Connect families to community resources and follow up to ensure services and supports are successfully accessed.
  • Represent Educational Solutions in community meetings and collaborative initiatives that strengthen family engagement and community trust.
  • Plan and support culturally responsive family engagement events, workshops, and celebrations that center Latino family inclusion and community pride.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and support parent volunteers and parent leaders to strengthen family ownership and involvement in the school community.
  • Increase participation in school activities by removing barriers related to language, communication, and access.
  • Build systems that encourage consistent family participation and leadership within the school community.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach, family contacts, enrollment referrals, and community partnerships.
  • Track engagement efforts and outcomes to support enrollment, attendance, and student success goals.
  • Prepare materials, communications, and translations that support family engagement and school initiatives.
  • Ensure strong organization, follow-through, and confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.
